francisco giants are on their way thoworld series -- to the world series. it was a blow out. san francisco beating the cardinals 9-0 to win the national league pennate. in the pouring rain most of the crowd staid in their seats -- stayed in their seats. the giants face the tigers at at&t park on wednesday. gary radnich is here with more on this victory and what the team can expect in the world series. >> here we go. we roll it out, 43,056 fans at the park in san francisco. st. louis had one shot here in the top of the second. trailing 1-0. matt cain bought this leaping catch from crawford to save two runs and from there it was all giants. matt cain worked into the 6th. threw 122 pitches. hunter pence breaking from his slump. bases clearing number. 5-0 giants. st. louis outscored the final three games of the series 20-1. 20-1. you got to check out the rain. that was the only drama down the stretch. if this were a close game they may have halted play. but when it is 9-0, get this over with and crown the giants e. in 7 games, champions of the national league. as pam said, the tigers wednesday

ocean beach a nice day for you 71 degrees. downtown san francisco upper seventies pushing close to 80 degrees. tomorrow we could set new records or close to it here is a look at your 7 day around the bay forecast. hot for thursday 93 degrees in the upper 80s for the bay the coast lower 80s with cool things down friday and>> ty bridge is out oakland into the city the approach to the bay bridge toll plaza moves well as a couple of cars on the road. traffic moves freely from all the approaches with no metering lights to deal with. here on the san mateo bridge west bound traffic tell lies towards foster city no approach on the south coming down the nimitz freeway. at the golden gate no issues with visibility southbound 101 a pretty smooth and easy ride coming out of marin county. westbound 580 in oakland we do have reports of debris blocking some of the left flank. certainly be aware of that it could become a hot spot. not seeing any yellow or red on our re roadway sensors. and napa we do have a problem no--a severe traffic colored insect and accident on the on ramp the chp says that you

kelley. >> and i'm laura garcia-cannon. we begin with a developing story in san francisco. police are now saying more about an overnight shootout with officers that led to a high-speed chase with a crash an a cab and a suspect on the loose. christie smith joins us live in san francisco with new details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, laura. what a morning for san francisco police officers. they tried to pull over a car and ended up being shot at. they're okay. they didn't return fire. but that car ended up crashing here on eddy street where we just reopened. i wanted to draw your attention to this. we thought what was in the street was broken glass but what it is is music cds all over the street this morning that may have flown out of the suspect's car when he crashed. this started around 2:00 at eddy and laguna as officers tried to stop a cadillac with a burned-out bulb over its license plate. that ended blocks away at eddy and franklin. that's where the driver blew through a red light and was hit by a taxicab. the cab was going so fast it hit a parking meter and kept go

fell short of reaching. >> people were very happy in san francisco but in some parts of the city the victory celebration turned into and ugly scene. >> we begin with ali. >> reporter: fortunately it was the kinds of damage that was eltifl easy to clean -- relatively easy to clean up. if you look here in the middle of the street, you can see a pile of garbage still out in the middle of the street. that was the burnt out contents of one of the many dumpsters that was lit on fire an on this stretch of road. so far, there are no reports of any businesses damaged in the mission neighborhood. this intersection, you can see open to traffic but it was a very different scene here a few hours ago. police lined the intersection of 16th and mission early this morning. they set up a command center of sorts, a lot of vehicles and a hundred officers at that intersection. we saw police make some arrests. and this was after fans and rowdy crowds set several dumpsters on fire in the middle of mission street. some of those dumpsters kept flaring up and smoldering for hours. >> we started around 24

is still on the loose this morning. san francisco police say think all began when officers tried to make a traffic stop for a light that was out on the license plate on the car. something very simple but it ended with this dangerous crash and the shooting and the sergeant we talked to says he feels lucky no officers were hurt. >> no one else was seriously hurt. the only injury i know of at this point is a hurt hand. given all things that could have gone wrong, i think this is pretty good. >> reporter: so san francisco police still out here investigating this morning. one interesting thing you can see sort of how violent this crash was. we saw a police officer who was carrying off the top of a parking meter. it was sheered off as a result of this accident this morning. police believe they have arrested the passenger inside this car. they are still looking for the driver of the car and at this point it's unclear why they ran from police this morning. the only thing the sergeant could come up with because they had a gun inside the car. live this morning in san francisco alex savidge ktvu ch
